Petra Point is named for Petra in Jordan, where the Nabataeans cut tombs and temple facades directly into the sandstone. Stone that is removed does not come back, so the geometry had to be settled in advance.

- Laser scanning where the deliverable needs a surface; conventional instrument survey where it needs a boundary. Over-capturing a demarcation wastes a week; under-capturing a fit-out costs a return visit.
