Reality Capture & BIM
Drawings describe intent. A scan describes the building. Petra Point captures built condition by 3D laser scanning, registers the survey to control, and delivers it in a working format: point cloud, 2D documentation, 3D CAD, or a coordinated BIM model.
When you need this
- 01As-built condition differs from the design set, and the difference matters.
- 02A refurbishment, fit-out or extension needs a reliable base model.
- 03Areas must be taken from the building itself, not from the drawings.
- 04A BIM model is required but no dependable existing-condition data exists.
What you receive
- Registered point cloud
- As-built survey report
- 2D plans, elevations and sections
- 3D CAD model
- BIM model at agreed level of detail

3D Laser Scanning
We scan the building as it stands and register the survey to control. What comes off it is your choice: point cloud, drawings, 3D CAD or a BIM model.
- 03.02
As-Built & Measured Building Surveys
A measured record of what was actually built. Drawn from survey of the building rather than traced from the drawings it was meant to follow.
- 03.03
Scan to BIM
A BIM model of a building that already exists, built from a survey of it rather than from the drawings it was supposed to be built to.

Point Cloud Deliverables
The measured record a laser scan produces, what makes it usable, and what gets drawn from it.
